HTC to Release Exodus 1s Cheaper Cryptophone

Since the original Exodus 1 was too expensive for an average user, HTC aims to release much cheaper Exodus 1s Cryptophone. This way they are keeping their promise to all consumers who claimed that they would be interested in a Cryptophone at a cheaper price.

What’s inside Exodus 1s lightweight Cryptophone

Contrary to its older brother, Exodus 1s will be a bit more pocket-friendly. The main reason for that is that HTC hasn’t incorporated top-notch equipment in this baby.

Therefore, instead of Exodus 1 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, with 1s you’ll get “only” 4G RAM and 64GB of storage space. HTC also cut the cost of the camera installation. Instead of 12MP + 16MP rear and 8MP + 8MP front camera, Exodus 1s owners will only enjoy 13MP rear and front cameras.

Moreover, Exodus 1s’ battery has 500mAh less, and a slightly smaller display, powered by a slightly slower processor. Still, it is a good enough machine for those that will find a use for such a device but cannot afford the top product.

HTC Exodus 1s blockchain and crypto support

The HTC will release Exodus 1s Cryptophone will be with Web3 browser and Zion cryptocurrency vault. However, the wallet is detached from Exodus 1s’ operating system by TEE which quarantines keystroke from keyloggers and malware.

The blockchain-related Exodus 1s’ equipment includes a full Bitcoin node. However, to run it users will have to buy a micro SD card.

When asked about their new product, HTC’s Decentralized Chief Officer, Phil Chen explained:

We are providing the tools for access to universal basic finance; the tools to have a metaphorical Swiss bank in your pocket.

HTC Exodus 1s rollout and price

The first rollout for Exodus 1s is first expected in Europe, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. After the initial sales launch, the Cryptophone will hit other markets as well.

After ordering the Cryptophone, it will take around 30 days for it to be distributed. The initial price of Exodus 1s is €219, which is peanuts in comparison to original Exodus 1 $699 to $1,000. HTC accepts fiat as well as BTC, ETH, LTC, BNB, or BCH.
